There are many websites on the world wide web where
you can earn money just for viewing advertisements
placed by other site members who paid to put these ads
there. The site has a timer and all you do is click on
the ad, view it until the timer gets to zero and go to
the next site. They are called paid to click sites or
PTC's for short. Although one only makes a penny or
less for each click of the mouse do not let that fool
you, it is possible to make fifty dollars per day or
more with paid to click websites.
These sites also will pay you for each and every click
made by other members who you have referred to the
paid to click program. So you can have one thousand
referrals all clicking ads and you get a penny for
each of their clicks and this can really add up to
alot of money. Some paid to click sites offer deals
like one cent per click and one cent per referral
click, while others offer half that, but those sites
who pay less than one cent per click often have lower
ad prices for their advertisers, resulting in more ads
for you to click on than the other sites.
Many of these websites also have "paid to sign up"
offers from other members as well. This is where you
sign up into thier program and you get paid ten cents
for that at most sites.
When choosing a good paid to click site, you should
check their site for a forum link. If they have a user
forum, go to it and register there first. Then look
around their forum, talk to the moderators there, and
try to get a feel for how well liked the site is among
it's members. This can save you alot of headaches
later on.
Many of these sites will sell you referrals in
packages as small as five or as large as five hundred.
The cost for these is usually around a dollar each,
and a group of five hundred referrals can bring in $50
per month comfortably, as long as their are ads at the
site for everyone to click on. You need to be careful
though, the key is to find paid to click sites owned
by a good honest admin. This can be researched by
visiting their forum like I said earlier, and by doing
a Internet search for the websites name or the owners
name. Do a whois lookup if you know how and look at
the owners name of the domain name itself, and the
date the sites url was created. This can be done at
whois dot com.

Title: 8 Ezine Advertising Mistakes To Avoid
Author: Deanna Mascle
Article:
These are several important lessons I've learned regarding Ezine
Advertising and Marketing Success. Here are eight mistakes you
should avoid:
Mistake No. 1 -- Not focusing
A common mistake many advertisers make is to attempt to do too
much, or rather sell too much, in one ad. Sure you have lots of
great products but you can't sell them all in a few lines-at
least not individually. Instead focus on the benefit your
customer can achieve from all your products and promote that!
People are much more likely to click on a link that BENEFITS
them than a link that promises to sell them something.
More importantly, tell the customer "what your product or
service is going to do for him."
It is important that you identify your Unique Selling
Proposition before you begin your advertising program. This will
determine which Ezines (or markets) you target as well as what
you should include in your ad copy. Who will be interested in
your product and why? What benefits does your product offer them?
Mistake No. 2 -- Going for the hard sale
Don't go for the sale in your ad! You are at a disadvantage
because you can't list all your products' wonderful benefits in
the space allowed. Also, there is only a small percentage of any
Ezine audience that is ready to buy your product at the exact
moment they view your ad. Yes, maybe they should be, but most
people today live in the moment and if this isn't the time they
want to buy then they aren't going to buy, end of story.
But it doesn't have to be the end of the story. If you go for
the soft sell approach your target consumer is much more likely
to click on your link and then you've got the chance to go for
the hard sell-again and again!
Here's an example. I'm selling a product called the Preschool
Prep Power Pack. It's an educational CD for preschoolers. Now I
could go for the hard sell in my promotion and I would make some
sales but a lot of people who really might be interested won't
even look at my site and product. However, I've chose to go the
soft sell approach. Instead of selling my product in my ads, my
ads offer two FREE items. I offer a free newsletter
(Preschoolers Learn More) offering tips about preparing
preschoolers for kindergarten. This is my target market for my
product. The folks who subscribe also receive a free ABC-123
coloring book. Why wouldn't the parent of a preschooler
subscribe, right?
But what's in it for me as a business person? A lot! Think about
it. I now have the freely offered contact information for my
target market. Now I can regularly email them information about
my product. I'm confident they will buy eventually because my
product provides a solution to something that concerns them-or
they wouldn't have subscribed in the first place!
Mistake No. 3 -- Letting the clock run out
Another common mistake is not giving your ad campaign enough
time to work.
Studies show it takes prospects an average of seven exposures to
your promotion before they take the bait. Even after they have
clicked through to your site visitors may need to visit your
site as many as three times before they buy from you. So make
sure you keep that offer in front of them. That means it may
well pay to take the long-term package versus a one-shot ad.
People run through their emails rapidly and delete things they
wish they hadn't. Make their wish come true! Give them a second,
third, fourth chance. The formula is--when you're sick and tired
of it, the public is just beginning to hear it.
Mistake No. 4 -- Cramming the ad space
Just because you've bought ad space doesn't mean you have to
utilize every pixel or character-space. Short, punchy lines that
do not use up every available space are more effective. Think
about the reader scanning down the page or screen. What will
catch their eye and make them stop scanning and actually read?
White space is your friend so don't squander it. Use it to set
off your important message.
Make sure you apply the same principal to your urls and e-mail
addresses as well. Nothing can make an ad look more cluttered
than giant web addresses with a complicated string of numbers
and letters. If you have to use an address like that (perhaps
for your affiliate code, for example) then it might be wise to
use a redirect.
QUICK NOTE
How to Use Ezine Articles to Promote ANY Product, Service Or Affiliate Program You Choose in 5 Easy Steps:
In a nutshell, it works like this...
* You write an article using the process I'm going to explain below. There are only five easy steps to the process. I'll explain them below. The idea is to write an article that relates to any product, service, list or site you want to promote. You provide the reader with useful information ... usually 500-700 words. That's not much to put together, even if you think "I'm not a writer." I'll show you how below.
* You create a "resource box" that points towards your site or list. A "resource box" is a simple 4-6 line "blurb" about YOU as the author. You can use it to mention briefly about what you do and you can point the reader of the article to any website or email address of your choosing. This is where folks can contact you for more information, take a look at the products you sell or join a list that you offer. Where you direct them to is completely up to you.
* You send that article out to newsletter publishers for consideration. Whether you use a software program that does it for you, or contact a targeted list of publishers that accept article submissions, or submit your article to one or more of the 70+ article directories (free of charge), you get YOUR article into the hands of those that control the lists related to the topic of your article.
* You generate traffic, subscribers and sales as they publish your article to their lists. When the interested publishers decide to print your article in their newsletter, you're in business. This, *literally* happens every day. It's a standard thing that many publishers do ... they don't have time to write articles all the time, so they find quality offerings from others and send it out to their subscribers. Some newsletter lists have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. And YOUR article would be the "center of attention" for the particular issue it was published in. Traffic will follow.
END OF QUICK NOTE
Mistake No. 5 -- Not using your head
Your headline is the most important part of your ad. This is
usually the line that determines whether the skimming reader
will stop or skip ahead.
Some of the proven headline formulas include:
1. Ask the reader a question: "Are you worried about filing your
tax return this year?"
2. Tell the reader how to do something: "How to buy a car
without getting a lemon."
3. Provide a testimonial: "Big Al saved me $200 last month.
Thanks, Cindy Lou from Paducah, Kentucky."
4. Make a command. Turn your most important benefit into a
commanding headline. "Stop rushing through life." "Make more
money this month." "Feel better about yourself."
5. Important news makes a good headline. "Max Electronics just
went international!"v 6. Start the clock: "Buyers who act before
midnight Tuesday will save an extra $50!"
7. Give the reader something free: "Free whatsit for the first
100 visitors!"
Mistake No. 6 -- Not telling them what to do
It sounds almost ridiculous, but simply giving clear, specific
directions about what you want the reader to do can increase the
response to your ads.

Mistake No. 7 -- Blowing your budget
One of the most difficult things to decide for any business
person is how much money to spend on promotion. There really is
one simple way to determine the answer. How much is a customer
worth to you? That tells you a great deal about how much you can
afford to spend on advertising.
The simple formula to calculate the net worth of a visitor is:
Net Profit divided by Conversion Rate.
First, what is your net profit on an average sale? Let's say $10
to make it easy. (Hey, I'm an English professor, I need to keep
it simple!)
Then consider what your conversion rate is for visitors to
become customers. Let's say one visitor out of 50 becomes a
customer. (This makes your conversion rate 50 as you need 50
customers to make a sale)
With this example, a visitor is worth $0.50 to you. ($10 divided
by 50)
So if you spend $100 on an advertising campaign that draws in
1000 visitors then you made $400 on that campaign.
Mistake No. 8 -- Setting unrealistic goals
This issue is really about control. Yes, if you could control
things that you would have a high sell through but that isn't
always going to happen. In fact, for most advertisers that isn't
going to happen. However, if your goal is to capture customers
then you are much more likely to match your goal or even exceed
it. And in the end a customer is worth a lot more to you than a
sale because a customer can represent many sales over years to
come-sales that were fairly easy to achieve.
As frustrating as it may be, advertising is usually about
long-term versus short-term benefits. Your ad simply serves as a
lure to draw people into your site or long-term promotion. Once
you've pulled them in then you need to sell them. So it is not
really fair to judge an ad campaign on simple sales.
The success of an ad campaign should be measured by one or two
elements only-first, how many people followed up on your offer
(click-through rate) and second, how many of those visitors were
you able to convert into customers (conversion rate).
Over time you will be able to judge where the weak link in your
chain of customer creation exists and work to fix it.
Low click-through rate? Then it is probably your offer. You are
not giving readers enough incentive to follow through. What is
in it for them to click on your offer? Remember you are selling
benefits!
Low conversion rate? Then perhaps you are not attracting the
right sort of visitor. Target your incentive (the free offer,
for example) to match your target audience. See my example in
Mistake No. 2.

Mistake No. 2.

Have you noticed yet that more and more people around the world
want to work from home and make money online?
Have you ever wished you could just wake up whenever you want,
have a cup of coffee, turn on your computer, work for a couple
of hours online, and then spend your time with your family and
hobbies? Indeed, working from home gives a lot of benefits,
freedom and income.
However, many people wrongfully think that making good money
online requires a website and huge investment. Here's a fact:
you can start making hundreds of dollars per month within weeks
with no upfront fees and even without a website.
How?
Affiliate marketing allows you to earn commissions for selling
other people's products or services online. As you study every
word of this article you will become amazed at how easy it will
be for you to get started earning cash on the Internet because
you can join any affiliate network at no cost.
For example, you can join Clickbank:
http://www.webmastertools4u.com/cgi-bin/jump.cgi?ID=4
In order to learn more about marketing Clickbank products, make
sure to read their website, FAQs and information in your
member's area.
Then go to Clickbank's "Marketplace" and browse the categories
that interest you. When you find a product that interests you,
visit it's pitch page and read the sales letter. I even suggest
you buying the product that interests you. You'll understand why
this will increase your affiliate earnings by the time you
finish reading this article.
When you find a product that you would like to promote, press
on the "Create Hoplink", enter your nickname that you have
entered when joining Clickbank and create your affiliate link
(hoplink) which you will be marketing on the Internet at no
cost.
In order to make money online, you'll have to promote your
affiliate link by using any of the 3 methods that don't require
a website:
1) Forum posting
2) Article writing
3) Pay-per-click (PPC) search engine marketing
But before you can start using any of the above methods, I must
warn you that each of them requires your time and work. If you
think that it's easy money, you'd better go watch TV or keep
browsing the Internet.
But let me confess something: If you are like me, and if you
are ready to put some time and effort, in the next few minutes
you're going to learn how to transform your life and start
making cash on the Internet by marketing affiliate programs.
Marketing your affiliate link via forums
One of the easiest ways for beginners to earn affiliate
commissions is to post comments in forums related to the
product that you have chosen to market.
Now follow my path. All you have to do is go to your favorite
search engine and find online forums related to the theme of
your product. Create an account at each forum. Then go to
update your profile and create a signature with your Clickbank
hoplink. You can do that later after you have done some comment
posting and see how other marketers use their links in their
signatures.
Then you should browse the topics where you can provide useful
tips and answers to the questions that people ask. If you have
bought the product that you want to promote and you are happy
with it, you should tell others about it's benefits and how it
helped you.
Consider this that it's not enough to post a couple of comments
and expect to earn thousands in commission. You should select
several forums that interest you and keep visiting them and
posting comments for at least a month. Try not to sell your
product but help people. When you have posted hundreds of
comments, people will treat you as an expert and the sales will
start rolling in.
After you have spent some time posting comments to forums, you
should notice that some topics and questions are asked again
and again. If you already know how to help people, you should
start writing articles and promote your affiliate links in
them.
Affiliate marketing using article distribution
In order to get started you should visit some article
directories, for example:
http://www.ezinearticles.com or http://www.isnare.com
Find articles that deal with the topic of your product and read
them. Notice the "Author Bio" section at the end of most
articles? It's the place where you'll market your affiliate
link too.
But before you can start marketing, you should write your
article. It's really easy. Don't say that you cannot write. If
you can post comments in forums, you can write articles!
Simply, think about helping people, about the problems they try
to solve in forums.
Now take a sheet of paper and start writing. The articles don't
have to be long. Just describe the problem and how it should be
solved.
Then register with some article directories, write your "Author
Bio" section with your hoplink and submit your article.
For maximum results, try to write and submit at least one
article per day for at least one month. If readers love your
articles, they'll visit your link and buy from you. Webmasters
will publish your articles on their websites and newsletters.
At the end of the month you should see some affiliate
commission in your Clickbank account.
Pay-per-click search engine marketing
When you have received your first checks from Clickbank, you
should consider promoting your product using pay-per-click
search engines. However, notice that this method requires
payment for each click and may be quite complicated for
beginners.
Some PPC search engines may even give you a sign-up bonus of up
to $200, so it's worth doing a research online and signing up.
In order to increase your affiliate earnings, you should also
consider learning how to mask your affiliate links and how to
track which marketing methods provide the most revenue.
You should also try to join other affiliate networks and
promote different products and services.
As you can see, you can start making money online quickly, even
if you don't have any money or website. Don't give up too soon,
find and read more information about affiliate marketing and
your success is guaranteed!

Starting an Ezine
5 Ways to Make More Money
With Your E-zine
by Alexandria K. Brown, “The E-zine Queen”
NOTE: Because many words in this article are likely to trigger sp^m filters, we've disguised them with symbols (e.g. sp^m). This will ensure a higher delivery rate if you use this article in your e-zine.
Have you been publishing an e-mail newsletter for at least six months but still aren't seeing real results (read: revenue) from it? Don't fret — you may just need a tune up. Here are five ways to kick your e-zine income into gear this year:
1. TOOT YOUR OWN HORN MORE
The adage goes, "If you don't blow your own horn, someone else will use it as a spittoon." If your focus is providing your readers with useful information that enriches their lives and businesses, bravo! That SHOULD be your focus. But now I want you to look out for yourself as well: Take at least 25 percent of your e-zine space and make it all about YOU.
Give promos for your services, products, books, workshops, etc. List raving testimonials from clients and customers who LOVE you. Weave your business success stories into your articles and tips. Share something funny about your weekend that makes me feel closer to knowing you personally. (For more self-promotion tips, see my article at http://www.ezinequeen.com/7ways.htm)
2. MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE
Let's suppose I'm one of your subscribers. Even if I realize you offer wonderful products and services, I may need a kick in the pants to make a move. To entice me, offer me a special, l1mited-time deal. Examples: three months' of consultation for the price of two, a 20% discount on your latest book or newest service, or one of your usual offers with a few exciting bonuses thrown in. Make the offer obsolete within a few days or by next week. By putting a time limit on it, I'll be more apt to act now instead of later.
Don't overlook how powerful this tactic can be. Some of my most profitable weeks have resulted from running a limited time, special pr0motion of this type in my e-zine.
3. PACKAGE IT AT A LOWER PRICE POINT
This is a super strategy for service professionals such as consultants and coaches. As your subscriber, I know the way to get the BEST service from you would be to hire you one-on-one, but perhaps I can't afford that right now. BUT consider that I may likely be interested in lower-priced options such as group coaching, teleclasses, online seminars, or a manual/e-book.
This is exactly how I became an e-book author. When I started my first e-zine, my main business was writing for corporate communications. After I gained a few thousand subscribers, I realized that my readers were mostly small business owners and entrepreneurs. So I began creating products and services geared toward them. And now I profit more from those each month than from my corporate work.
4. PROMOTE A PRODUCT/SERVICE THAT COMPLEMENTS YOURS
Do your readers and clients often ask you about a certain topic that's related to — but not exactly — what you offer? Then resell a resource that you heartily recommend and would put your reputation behind.
For example, while my specialty is e-zines, I get many questions about creating and selling information products online. So I continually research credible resources on this topic to share with my readers. Many of the creators of these products offer a handsome commission on any sales I refer to them. (I do this myself by paying out up to 25% commission on any referred sale. http://www.ezinequeen.com/affiliate.htm)
NEVER recommend any service or product to your readers that you haven't personally tried and wouldn't back 100 percent. Otherwise you'll blow the trust that you've worked so hard to build up in your readership.
5. SELL AD SPACE AS IT SUITS YOU
E-zine ads won't make you wealthy, but they can make for some handy extra c^sh. (I call it my "margarita money.") Most e-zines offer one sponsor ad at the top and several "classified" ads at the bottom. Sponsor ads typically cost three to five times more than the classified ad, but you'll see the ranges vary greatly.
Start by offering ad specials to your own readers. Then also list your e-zine in the many e-zine advertising directories on the Web. These services help match advertisers with appropriate publishers just like you. (Need help? My manual gives step-by-step instructions on how to accept and profit from ads in your e-zine.)
Remember that you have every right to be selective about the type of ads you accept. While your readers know these ads don't represent YOUR business, their quality will indirectly influence their perception of you.
REMEMBER THE *SILENT* BENEFITS OF YOUR E-ZINE
Keep in mind that even if you aren't getting direct business from your e-zine at this time, it's still delivering many benefits that may be less obvious. Your e-zine is helping to establish you as an expert in your field. It's giving you massive online exposure. You're gaining further credibility with your current clients and customers. And it's forcing you to package your knowledge into concise articles on a regular basis, which you can recycle for many other marketing uses.
